These are crazy times indeed.  And with many of us dealing with a second wave of Covid 19, or political unrest, anxiety can creep up when least expected.

Anxiety is not an easy thing to deal with no matter how old you are or how long you have had it. It can sneak up on you when you least expect it and make situations that you would normally be fine in extremely difficult. It’s for this reason that you’ve got to learn how you can deal with anxiety in your everyday life. In this article, we’re going to look at some of the things that you can do to deal with this, so keep reading to find out more.

Just Breathe

Something that you should always remember is that you have got to breathe. When you are in the middle of an anxiety attack, this can feel impossible, but it’s something that you must do. You can even practice some mindful breathing when you are calm so that when you are feeling anxious, you can use these techniques to calm down. It’s all about being in control of the situation, and your breathing is something that you can control as long as you put your mind to it. It might not feel like it at the time, but we’re sure once you get the hang of it it’s going to be far easier.

Understand Your Triggers

You should also work on understanding your triggers. Anxiety is usually triggered by something or a number of somethings, and you need to figure out what will and won't trigger you. When you understand this, you are more likely to be able to avoid them, or if you know they are coming, you can prepare accordingly. Keep a list if you are noticing that you’ve got more than a handful, because sometimes it can be difficult to remember.

I recommend that when you have some spare time, you work on things that can prevent these triggers from taking hold. We already talked about breathing above, but your health is important so there must be other things that you can do. If you need help coming up with ideas, you can speak to your doctor who should be able to give you some advice on this topic.

Know that you are not alone.  So many people suffer from various degrees of anxiety.  Understanding some of the ways you can deal with anxiety in your everyday life will help you. It’s not always simple and clear when you are in the midst of an attack, but there are strategies you can use to help you cope.

When you feel yourself getting anxious, take a second to yourself and breathe. Breathe through whatever is triggering your anxiety and try to remember that you are okay. Nothing bad is going to happen, and you’ve just got to get yourself back in control.
